Thank you for partnering in Compassion’s ministry

We are thrilled that you have partnered with Compassion in releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name by sponsoring a child. Sponsoring a child is a beautiful and rewarding experience – journey through life together and hear letter-by-letter how you have made a life-changing difference in the life of an individual child and helped them to become a fulfilled and healthy adult.

Compassion’s desire is that the sponsorship of your child becomes a long-term commitment and that all sponsors will have the opportunity to see their sponsored child grow and develop until he or she graduates from or leaves the program or reaches adulthood. It is our prayer that you will develop a deeper relationship with your sponsored child over the months and years ahead.

As a sponsor you can expect to receive:

  • Letters from your sponsored child.
  • Updated photos and a report from your sponsored child as they become available.
  • Income tax statement from our finance department every year.
  • Information from Compassion if there are any significant changes to your sponsored child’s situation or circumstances that affect your sponsorship.
  • Compassion Canada’s magazine.
  • Compassion’s annual Christmas appeal with Christmas cards to send to your sponsored children.

As a sponsor we encourage you to:

  • Commit to long-term sponsorship of your child.
  • Pray regularly for your child, and consider becoming a Compassion Prayer Partner.
  • Send letters, postcards and photos to your sponsored child. Build a friendship by sharing words of love and encouragement. Compassion will supply you with customized writing paper for your convenience. If you prefer to use your own stationery, please include your sponsor name and number as well as the name and number of your sponsored child. (You can find this information on any tax receipt from Compassion.)
  • Send gifts to your child for birthdays and Christmas.
  • Make Automatic Payments by Pre-Authorized Withdrawal or Credit Card. These payment options help save Compassion money and saves you time.
  • Become a voice for children in poverty by joining Compassion’s Children's Advocacy Network.
  • Let us know if you are having difficulties making your financial commitment to your sponsored child as we may be able to help.
  • Let us know if your contact details change (including phone and email).
