What is Children Praying for Children?

Children Praying for Children is a Compassion missional resource. The resource contains material that keys on six prayer zones children in poverty need in order to survive: Truth, Food, Water, Shelter, Education and Love. It's an excellent tool that can be used for Sunday school, Vacation Bible School (VBS) or a special Missions Sunday.

The Children Praying for Children Kit is a beautiful expression of the child sponsorship experience. Children are precious to God and to us who know that He has called them at an early age to serve Him. Compassion is passionate about the value and worth of children!

Compassion Canada is offering the Children Praying for Children resource free to sponsors and churches across Canada. This resource provides a wonderful way to educate your children about how children in poverty live around the world, and how their prayers can make a difference.

The History of Children Praying for Children

In 2004, Compassion opened its ministry headquarters in London to local area churches and invited 8-12 year olds to pray. We called it Children Praying for Children. Over the last few years, hundreds of children and sponsors from churches across Canada have joined Compassion Canada for an annual event to faithfully pray for children around the world.

Inspired in part by Viva’s World Weekend of Prayer for Children at Risk, this dream has become a catalyst in seeing Christian children from across Canada pray for children at risk around the world.
