Director of Finance

Compassion Canada, an international child development agency located in London Ontario, is seeking an individual to become the Director of Finance.

Job Description:

Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Finance directs the financial and treasury affairs of Compassion Canada, enforces financial policies and procedures, and ensures that such policies and procedures are in accord with Corporate Guidelines and the requirements of governmental and other regulating bodies.

Location:          London Ontario Canada

 

This posting will remain active until the position is filled.

The Director of Finance will:
  • Provide a regular, open and transparent financial updates and analysis to the Board, CEO, and Management Team. Control the treasury function. Serve as a member of the Finance/Audit committee;
  • Educate Board/ CEO/ Management Team in financial matters. Contribute to the setting of strategy and policy;
  • Oversee regular audits, accounting, purchasing and income processing;
  • Oversee the budgeting, monitoring and controls functions;
  • Ensure that payroll function is carried out in an accurate and timely manner, including disbursements for benefits and pension;
  • Oversee risk management and compliance.
Education and Experience:
  • Degree in finance/accounting and/or recognized accounting designation such as CA, CMA, CGA
  • At least five years post-graduate accounting experience in the corporate or charitable sectors.
